It’s been a little while since our last blog post. With brighter days and sunshine making its way back, it felt like the right time to share something new. As we move firmly into Summer, we often find ourselves reaching for lighter, fresher ingredients and simpler ways of cooking. That got us thinking about how you could do something different with our range of Sipp'd Small Batch Apple Juice. While it’s perfect poured straight from the bottle, it can also be a brilliant ingredient in the kitchen.
We use locally grown apples from Essex and Kent, pressed in small batches, to keep as much of their natural flavour as possible. No flavourings, no concentrates, no preservatives, and nothing artificial. Just real apples and a pinch of vitamin C.
Sipp'd Small Batch Apple Juice can be a brilliant ingredient in the kitchen, adding natural sweetness, gentle acidity, and depth of flavour to all sorts of dishes.
So, instead of reinventing the wheel with recipes of our own, we thought we’d share a few inspired dishes from chefs we all know and love that make the most of apple juice in simple, delicious ways.
1. Sticky Apple Juice Glazed Pork Ribs

(Inspired by classic Jamie Oliver-style cooking)
The natural sweetness of the apple juice balances the rich meat beautifully, while helping create a proper sticky glaze as everything cooks down.
Ingredients
Ribs
Olive oil
2 racks of pork loin back ribs
Marinade
1 fresh red chilli
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
2 cloves garlic
150ml Sipp’d Apple Juice
100ml white wine vinegar
2 heaped tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
100ml soy sauce
100g soft brown sugar
Method
Preheat the oven to 200°C and get your barbecue ready if using one.
Rub the ribs with a little olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper.
To make the marinade, finely chop the chilli, grate the ginger and garlic, then add everything to a saucepan with the apple juice, vinegar, ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, and brown sugar. With only 150ml of apple juice being used, the remaining 175ml in the Sipp'd bottle is perfect for the chef to enjoy 😉.
Gently simmer for 10–15 minutes until thickened and glossy.
Place the ribs in a roasting tray, brush generously with the marinade, and cover tightly with foil.
Cook for around 1 hour 15 minutes, basting halfway through. Remove the foil for the final 15 minutes so everything gets sticky and caramelised.
Finish on the barbecue for a few minutes if you fancy a little smokiness.
Messy, sticky, sweet, salty… exactly how good ribs should be.
2. Apple Juice Roast Chicken Traybake
(A simple Nigella-style family favourite)

Apple juice adds moisture and flavour to roasting dishes, creating beautifully tender chicken and delicious pan juices.
Ingredients:
4 chicken thighs or drumsticks
275ml Sipp’d Apple Juice
1 red onion, sliced
2 apples, cut into wedges
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp thyme
Salt & pepper
Method:
Place chicken, onion, and apples in a roasting tray.
Pour over apple juice and drizzle with olive oil.
Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
Roast at 190°C for 40–45 mins until golden.
The juice reduces in the tray, creating a naturally sweet, savoury sauce.
3. Creamy Butter Beans with Apple Juice, Sage & Garlic
(Inspired by the simple, ingredient-first style of cooking popularised by chefs like Thomas Straker and Anna Jones)

This one feels simple, comforting, and packed with flavour.
Ingredients:
2 jars/tins butter beans (Bold Bean Co would work brilliantly)
200ml Sipp’d Apple Juice
3 garlic cloves, sliced
1 small onion or shallot, finely chopped
Fresh sage leaves
Olive oil
Salt & black pepper
Optional: parmesan or crème fraîche to finish
Method:
Gently soften the onion and garlic in olive oil.
Add the sage and cook until fragrant.
Pour in the apple juice and let it reduce slightly. Then it's only right that the chef enjoys the remaining juice left in the bottle.
Add the beans and simmer gently for 10–15 minutes until creamy and glossy.
Finish with black pepper and a little parmesan or crème fraîche if you fancy.
The apple juice adds balance and brightness, lifting the richness of the beans without overpowering them.
Perfect with sourdough, roasted vegetables, or simply eaten straight from the bowl.
Tyler Butt’s Nduja Pulled Pork Burritos

Rich pulled pork, spicy nduja, crispy toasted tortilla… exactly the sort of over-the-top comfort food we can get behind.
A proper apple juice works brilliantly alongside dishes like this too, cutting through the richness and heat with a bit of natural sweetness and acidity.
You can watch Tyler make them here.
Why Use Proper Apple Juice?
When cooking, ingredients matter. Using real pressed apple juice means:
✅ Natural sweetness ✅ Better flavour ✅ No artificial aftertaste ✅ Real fruit character
